Cat Portrait of Pitucha

While touring Portugal in 2005, we stayed in a lovely inn in Portel, the Refugio da Vila. Pitucha ambled down the roof to our balcony terrace to greet us. She returned that night to sleep at the foot of the bed. I felt her love and comforting purr. Later that day I learned that my former boss and dear friend, the former Vicar of Boston's iconic Old North Church, the Rev'd Robert W. Golledge, had died during the night. Thank you, sweet Pitucha, for being there for me.

I painted this portrait from a photo of Pitucha sitting on the roof outside our room.

I gave the original to the owner of Refugio da Vila - Portel the following year.
